You get what you focus on!

May 13, 2008 16:48 by Ric Hayman

It is important to remember that you actually end up with more of what you focus on.

If you want prosperity, wealth, success then focus on it.

What tends to happen when people strive to achieve things, they notice their shortcomings and lack. Focusing on lack will increase the number and strength of the messages that support these beliefs. This lack will then be able to increase its foot hold and could eventually be used to explain the failure.

If the lack or shortcomings are ignored and the successes, no matter how small, these successes will become more frequent and stronger.

A while back, I was working as a successful consultant and at that time I travelled up and down the country with a colleague. Phil was a discerning fellow and each time we ate at a restaurant, he always managed to find something that was wrong. It could have been that the starter was too big, or the starter was too small. The wine was too warm or it was too cold. Never was there a time that the restaurant could get it all right for Phil.

I found that this spilled over into other parts of my life. I too found things wrong in just about everything, incliuding eating out, even when I wasn't with Phil.

One day I was on the phone to BT complaining about something to do with my telephone service and my boss popped his head over the office divider. "Are you ok Ric?" he said. At that moment, I stopped and noticed that I probably wasn't. We had a chat and he told me that he had noticed that I wasn't "being myself" anymore. That day, I decided to look for the good things in everything from then on.

Look for the good things and the really great things will come to you.

Ho'oponopono weekend 2-3 May 2008

May 5, 2008 16:19 by Ric Hayman

WOW! What a great weekend the Ho'oponopono workshop was.

I met some great people and there were loads of interesting stories. There was only one person that I met who was from the UK and that was Paul Bedi.

During the weekend, Dr Hew Len asked us to "work on" some issues that we had in our lives. I am not going to go into any detail here about the issue I worked on. Suffice it to say the day after I returned from the weekend, the issue was settled. I mentioned this to a close friend and they immediately came out with the fact that it could have been coincidence. I agree... It could have been. The thing is, I don't think it was and I choose to believe that it was something else. In maintaining this belief, it could be possible to expand upon it and possibly get more "coincidences" going on. If this was a coincidence, then I welcome more!

There were about 350 people there and they were very friendly and approachable. Dr Hew Len allowed me to have my photograph taken with him. On the day after the course, we were sitting having breakfast in the hotel dining room and he even came over to have a chat with us.

I will be going again to a Ho'oponopono workshop, the energy is really something else!

The Personal Success Handbook

April 22, 2008 13:36 by Ric Hayman

A copy of Curly's latest book was delivered this morning from the publishers. I had already read a manuscript of it and it is another outstanding piece of work by Curly Martin. Just one of the techniques in the book has changed so many situations for me in the last few weeks. I know that these situations would have prevoiusly remained less than satisfactory for me.

Thank you Curly! Well done!

Ho'oponopono weekend booked for 2 - 3 May

March 30, 2008 16:13 by Ric Hayman

I just booked the Milptas (San Jose) Ho'oponopono weekend and flights out of Heathrow Terminal 5. Hopefully BAA will be up to speed by then. Arriving in San Jose two days early for a bit of sightseeing. I will post comments about the weekend whan I have done it. I continue to listen to Zero Limits on Audio Book from Audible every day. I read it once and I must have listened to it about 10 times by now. The last half hour of the book is Dr Hew Len talking about Ho'oponopono and it is the pre-requisite to attending the weekend. A transcript of this is available at http://www.hooponoponotheamericas.org/whos-in-charge-english.htm.

Powerful Questions

March 4, 2008 15:13 by Ric Hayman

Some powerful questions that can be asked are easy to formulate using Cartesian Coodinate Questions.

  • What will happen if I do ‘X’
  • What wont happen if I do ‘X’
  • What will happen if I don’t do ‘X’
  • What wont happen if I don’t do ‘X’

Get a piece of paper and divide it in half both horizontally and vertically with a line.

Label the first column "will" and the second "won't"

Label the first row "do" and  the second row "don't"

Now apply the question to the Cartesian Coordinates... For example "I wnat to give up working".

The top left square will be, "What if I do give up working?" The top right will be, "what will happen if I dont give up working?"

The lower left square will be, "What won't happen if I give up working?" The lower right will be, "What won't happen if I don't give up working?"

Practise asking questions using all the positions in the coordinates. Ask yourself, you will be suprised at the outcomes.

Ho'oponopono

February 23, 2008 16:30 by Ric Hayman
Joe Vitale's book Zero Limits forund its way into my life last weekend. After reading it twice I just have to find out more about Ho'oponopono and Dr Ihaleakala Hew Len. I looked up trainings in Ho'oponopono and all the sites I visited had trainings last month. It is frustrating when people negelect to keep their data up to date on websites. If anyone has information on training courses in the USA or the UK on Ho'oponopono, please drop me a line.

Life Coach Training

January 9, 2008 07:44 by Ric Hayman

In 2003 a series of events lead me to the conclusion that I wanted to persue a more meaningful career. I decided to look into Life Coaching and after hours of research, I came up with the ideal Life Coach Training Company.  I had already given up working as a full time IT Contractor and had plenty of time on my hands to contact all the major coach training organisations.

I decided on Achievement Specialists and in July 2003, I attended the Life Coaching Handbook Coaching Diploma weekend module. The reason I chose Achievement Specialists was based firstly on reading Curly Martin's book "The Life Coaching Handbook". Secondly on the wealth of knowlwge and facts that she freely gives away on her website http://www.achievementspecialists.co.uk and lastly, because Curly Martin took the time out of her busy schedule to talk to me about Life Coaching.

The Weekend workshop was packed with the core requirements of becoming a life coach and there was plenty of hands on practise. The team that Curly had at the time were outstanding and made us all really welcome. After the weekend workshop, I decided that I would like to do it again and luckily Curly makes it possible for delegates to attend again. The criteria is to complete the workbook part of the course, write a 3000 word thesis and get fee paying clients. I satisfied the criteria quickly and attended the weekend again. This was it! I wanted to experience this more!

In one of Curly's modules, she talks about getting speaking engagements to publicise your services. She goes on to say, "What do you do if the organisation has all it's speakers lined up for the next 12 months?" The answer is to put your name down as a person who will step in at short notice. I decided to take that approach with Curly and got my name down as a person who would step in to crew her weekend at short notice. I soon got a call, and then another. After attending a few times, Curly noticed that I was really good at organising the team and dealing with the delegates, so she asked me if I would like to attend all the workshops.

I am now the course director for Achievement Specialists and attend all the Life Coaching Diploma Courses and carry out their EFT Training. There are new courses coming on line in 2009 and I will be involved with them too.

I am really pleased that I chose Achievement Specialists, it has been an incredible journey so far and I am looking forward to the rest of it. If you are thinking of training as a Life Coach and are wondering who to train with, take the time to talk to Curly Martin or me before you make your decision.

EFT Emotoinal Freedom Technique

March 1, 2007 13:51 by Ric Hayman
I was introduced to EFT in 2004 by one of my friends Ade Hanlon, a Hypnotherapy instructor. At that time, I mainly used Hypnotherapy and NLP to bring about change in my life and others. It was interesting, because I had been sent a strategy for cold calling a few weeks before. It involved tapping and I sceptically did it. I was amazed to find that it worked. What Ade was telling me about was the same thing! Of course, I had to find out all about it.
